Pershore Golf Society
The rain and floods didn't deter a group of 17 hardy members and guests from descending on Nailcote Hall for the annual par 3 challenge. Surprisingly, the course was in very good condition with firm greens and not too much mud, although for those of us that spent most of our time in the bunkers, they were like playing in wet concrete.
Golfing highlight of the day was a pair of net 57's, one from Pete Johnson, who won best guest and the other from John Vincent who won the day. Ian Brazier with 63 and Keith Taylor with 67 completed the top three. Matt Sailes won nearest the pin and Dave Adams with best Stableford, completed the honours for the day.
Non golfing highlight of the day had to be our chairman acting in his other role as President of the Flood Rescue team. As well as giving us minute by minute weather updates, he was in a heightened state of readiness (and arousal) waiting for the call to rush back to save the good citizens of Pershore from the rising waters of the Avon.

on his first event as Captain, despite the pressure of
organising the day and delivering his inaugural speech to a
hostile crowd, he played his normal steady game posting an
