Stepping up on the tee to open proceedings the Captain, duly pulled his tee shot into a flower bed some 75 yards away, only to see it bounce back towards him. A stunning 50 yard opening drive! As one would expect the normal respect was afforded the Captain.
Everyone got round in good order with only one wet period, on what turned into a breezy day with a difficult swirling wind. Difficult that is, for all except one Moggy Ford, who after giving us a taster in the morning, knocked it round in 88 blows for a stunning 64, to take the spoils by 8 shots from Hatchet Hammond.
Well done Moggy and kiss goodbye to that 24 handicap.
Other prize winners on the day were Kev Lloyd (73) third on count back from Roy Amphlett, whose round included two birdies. Two nearest the pins were won by Tim Kilby and Keith Taylor, with Mike Ciric taking the longest drive, beating Vic by the smallest of margins.
To crown it all Moggy then claimed the sweep, having drawn himself earlier in the day.
The Captains charity, Help for Heroes, had another £45.50 added to it courtesy of poor putting, on what were very good greens.
